Since 1977
Since the Vermarcsport company showed its first bike clothing to the world of cycling, countless meters of printed cloth already left the firm in Rotselaar in Belgium. Founder Frans Verbeeck started his own bike clothing brand about 35 years ago after he had put an end to his own successful career as a professional cyclist. Vermarc, so called after his son Verbeeck Marc, started growing very fast. Right now Vermarc is the topbrand that dressed many, many topteams throughout the years.
It was in his garage in Rotselaar that Frans and his wife Angèle at first started printing acrylic fibers and wool. The system that they used in those days was velvet lettering. But because this was a very dusty and very unhealthy business Frans started looking  for new technology. It was in Italy that he first met the sublimation technique and brought it to Rotselaar. In cooperation with the university of Leuven Frans developed his own production process. After four months of hard work he got at the level where he wanted to be. Since then Vermarc is the trendsetter concerning modern cloth printing. Nowadays this technique has reached such a high level and is that much advanced that only inks that are ecological sound and with a base of water are used.
The evolution
The enormous expansion of the company has everything to do with the new, better and faster techniques that have been used but also because of Frans’s personal motivation. In search of new orders he started travelling through the country. Because he was well-known in the world of cycling thanks to his successful cycling career many doors opened. So in no time the firm found its solid basis to go on. Big or small orders, Frans made no difference and that is exactly what clients always appreciate. Another important thing is that the quality of the used materials is always the same for all clothing. Whether you are a professional cylist or a cyclotourist, they all get the best on the market. Everybody has got the right to be well dressed.  Because of this, Vermarc is very strong in designing and producing club clothing. About 400 new designs a year leave the company and that is an enormous success.
In the mean time his son Marc took over all responsibilities as head of the company. Frans still has a close look to how things go in the firm that has about 27 employees right now. Another important thing is that the same philosophy as 30 years ago is still there: quality and service go together in a friendly atmosphere towards the clients.
